Every first Saturday morning, Stolen Lunches volunteers gather at the McCrorey YMCA and go out into the streets of Charlotte. We fill bags with everything a neighbor might need — and then we deliver them. Person to person. No buffer. No distance.
We've been doing this every month, without fail, for 12 years. The people who keep coming back don't just do it to help others. They do it because something happens in the act of showing up that you can't get anywhere else.
You'll be home by noon.
"The hand-written love letter matters as much as the food. Maybe more. Because it says: I see you. Someone took time for you. You are worth stopping for."
Rain. Cold. Whatever. The first Saturday happens. We don't cancel. We don't reschedule. We show up — because the people we're going to serve have nowhere else to go.
More than 2,000 volunteers came together to pack 7,000 blessing bags for our neighbors. We are grateful for every person, sponsor, and community partner who helped make the day a success.

"You don't serve because you have extra. You serve because you've been filled enough to pour."
